Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
The shifty character peered out at the four of them, hunter candidates to be sure. The navigator had a low, almost ominous voice "so, you gathered three other hunter candidates as I asked? well then I suppose you've passed... Nikki but the rest of you...." he turned toward the others "will need to pass a test of mine" he said simply rummaging deep in his coat

Saki frowned.
"Oh, I knew there had to be a downside!"
For a second, her memory seemed to blur a little, but then it was clear again.
When she knew who she was and why she was here again, she was more determined than ever before.
"Okay, bring it on, scary guy!"

Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
The man's coat was beginning to move rather unnaturally around his middle until finally he reached in to his coat and appeared to produce a deck of cards from his own stomach which he held before them "this game is very simple" he said fanning the cards out twenty-four in to each hand "the deck I have with me contains four aces, all you have to do is pick a hand and take a card from it, if you chose incorrectly you are out, if you all get out I wont take a single one of you to the exams, so chose wisely" he said simply
Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
"Okay.....Now let's see..."
Saki didn't really like situations like that.
If anyone picked before her, and actually got one of the aces, it'd make things harder for her. But if he got one of the other cards, then...
"Oh screw this, I'm no good at logical thinking!"
There had to be a trick behind it, she knew, but trying to figure it out would only make her head ache.
So she let her finger slide over the cards and picked the one that felt right to her.
Actully, it was just a random pick.

Gael looked closely at the backs of the cards, and then chuckled a bit. "Where are the other four? It seems to me you only have 48 cards in your hands. Are the aces elsewhere?"

The mavigator chuckled to himelf "an observant one eh? Correct the aces arrent in thease hands...". He said putting spechal emphasis on 'thease' as the card saki drew was shown to be the three of clubs
Gavan thought of something "earlyer when you reached in to that coat of yours..." he said reaching over to his coat now quickly pulling it off to reveal two shorter men one standing on the other's shoulders "I thought your arms looked a bit to short!" the man on the bottum had fur cards in one of his hands "and thease must be..." he snatched the cards from the second mans hand and examined them "the aces!"
the two navigators looked rather supprized "y-you pass!"

Gael smiled. "Knew it! I knew you wouldn't be that whimsical! Or at least I thought you wouldn't." Then he stopped smiling, then asked, "All of us?"

The navigators walked with them 'thats right, our plaine is this way, as promised we'll take you to the exam" they said simply
Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
"Okay!" Gael replied, beginning to follow them. "Hey Gavan, come on!"

Saki tossed the card away.
She was a little confused.
What had she expected, that this would be easy?
She was a little hurt in her pride, but forced herself to smile as she followed the others.

The navigators led them to a very worn looking airplain with two piolets seats as they sliped in to the seats it became aparent that they wouldent have anywhere to sit "what about us?" asked Gavan as they started up the plain "you'll be sitting in there" said the first navigator pointing to a small metalic traler like box attached to the bottum of the plane, this ride would be a bumpy one.
Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
"Eeerk..."
Saki looked at the box. It certainly didn't seem to be comfortable.
God, this was so emberassing.
"All of us together? In that small thing?"

"afraid so" chimed in the first Navigator "there's some benches inside and some seatbelts but thats really all thats bolted down in there, hunters gotta be sturdy people after all" Gavan strapped himself in "well how long should the ride be?" he said nervously as the navigator's chuckled to themselves "long enugh"
Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
Nikki seemed to be inside the box and strapped in already. What the.....? She sat patiently, twiddling her thumbs.

Unperturbed, Gael hopped into the box, turned upside down, and strapped himself in that way. His legs were where his back should be, and his back was where his legs should be. He turned his head at Saki. "You're the only one left, so hop on in!" He scootched over to make room for Saki.

Re: Serious: The search for truth, part 1: A new beginning
Saki sighed.
She was reluctant, but then she finally got into the thing.
"...Wow... cozy..."
She sat down and strapped herself.
It was even more uncomfortable than it looked.

And off they whent, their ride began slowly and as they gathred speed the box began to turn a bit much in the way a ship turns on the waves of the ociean, and in this way they were off to the exams!
((to be continued in the exams?))
